CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF ARCHITECTURE
The way you tell your story makes a difference. I work closely with clients to capture the form and spirit of their designs, convey their narratives, and connect with their audiences.
ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIORS
SHOWCASING YOUR CREATIVITY
Ansel Adams once said, "A photograph is not an accident—it is a concept." With 25 years of experience as an architect practicing architectural photography, I bring a unique perspective to capturing the essence of a building’s design. With my training and expertise, I create striking images that showcase the beauty and strength of your project—helping you capture attention and connect with your audience.

“We’ve had a number of photographers who have tried to get shots for us, but none of them even came close to achieving the look, the atmosphere, and the artfully staged shots you’ve done.”

WHAT TO EXPECT
MY PROCESS FOR CREATING BREATHTAKING PHOTOGRAPHS
Great photos are the result of thoughtful preparation. Here, collaboration is the key to success. After all, these images are for you. Let’s work together to ensure that the results are extraordinary.
1. PLANNING
Before shoot day, we’ll discuss your needs, including the desired number of images, the principal views, stylistic preferences, and the project timeline. I’ll ask to review your drawings to orient myself. Together, we’ll prepare a shot list, schedule, and on-site checklist so all is ready for shoot day.
On production day, you have confirmed the on-site preparations. We don’t want to find a tractor at the front door when we arrive! A building manager shall be available if a concern arises. As we proceed with photography, I work with you to ensure that every shot looks its best.
2. CAPTURE
This is where I elevate your photos into award-winning portfolio pieces. Digital editing refines each image through compositing, retouching, and color correction. The final result is a curated set of stunning, professional photographs that showcase your talent and work.
3. POST-PRODUCTION
THE ELEMENTS OF ARCHITECTURE
FORM • SPACE • MATERIAL • LIGHT • CONTEXT
FORM
Form encloses space, and its size, shape, and proportions arise from accommodating interior functions. The form can exhibit character, convey meaning, and reflect culture.
I explore multiple viewpoints to ensure that a building’s full sculptural presence is revealed.
SPACE
Space possesses visual and physical characteristics, including its dimensions, proportions, openness, and relationships; the aspects of light; and the color and texture of surrounding materials. The balance between space and structure impacts layout and character.
I endeavor to capture spatial expression, reveal functions, and highlight important relationships. I employ techniques that minimize perspective distortion.
MATERIAL
Surfaces define boundaries and establish character through their material, color, texture, detail, and response to light.
I capture details to emphasize unique and defining features that may be overlooked in the overall views.
LIGHT
Light is the soul of architecture as both a utility and a means of expression. Light is a principal organizing force in design, bringing to the material world the animating energy of life. Light and shade reveal form, texture, and surroundings, and profoundly influence mood.
My principal objective is to capture the nuances and flattering effects of natural and artificial light. I use supplemental lighting with restraint, respecting the design by avoiding intrusive lighting effects.
CONTEXT
Site and environment influence architectural form, placement, orientation, openness, sense of place, and the arrangement of interior spaces.
I highlight these relationships when they reveal important design decisions.
